Chemitec’s 70 Series CT controller was recently chosen by operations management at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport to serve a cooling water treatment process.

The airport – Spain’s second-largest airport and Europe’s sixth-busiest – was used by more than 55 million passengers in 2024 and required a monitoring solution as part of a biweekly non-oxidising biocide dosing system. With precise, repeatable measurement essential for maintaining water quality and protecting system performance, the trusted 70 Series CT was the ideal fit.

70 Series CT was developed specifically for cooling water treatment and has been installed to monitor free chlorine, pH, conductivity, turbidity and temperature while a filtration system ensures water quality.

Data transmission to the central SCADA is achieved through Modbus RTU TCP/IP communications, with the sophisticated controller also enabling the operator to access parameter data via smartphone or PC for 24/7 remote management.
