When a water network required state-of-the-art instrumentation for the measurement of total chlorine in 60 treatment plants, they commissioned water-monitoring expert Chemitec to provide a bespoke solution.
The plants in question, although functional, did not have analysis instrumentation in place and therefore operators were unable to assess the total chlorine in drinking water.
Chemitec’s technical team visited the client and, after a full assessment of the plants’ requirements, recommended the 46 Series control unit for overall management of the process. This intuitive five-key controller includes a 128×128-pixel graphic display and data logger for 260,000 records which can be downloaded via Wi-Fi for unprecedented remote management.
Also specified was Chemitec’s sophisticated S494 sensor, specifically developed for the measurement of disinfectants and ideal for this total chlorine application. This membrane-covered amperometric sensor features a PVC-U body and integrated temperature sensor for signal compensation and can operate in temperatures from 0 – 45°C, making it suitable for a broad range of applications.
Completing Chemitec’s panel-mounted solution was the S305 probe holder with a junction box added for carrying Modbus, mA and digital pulse signals, making the system easy to install and connect and ready for immediate use.
As part of Chemitec’s comprehensive service offering, the customer can benefit from access to dedicated after-sales support to ensure they get the most from their equipment over the long term.
With the installation of this professional water- monitoring solution completed, the client reported complete satisfaction with their instrumentation as well as Chemitec’s world-class technical and operational delivery capacity.
